Biography

Rahnfong Lee has completed his PhD in 1988 at the age of 27 years from University of Massachusetts at Amherst, USA. He is the Adjunct Professor of National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. He has worked over 20 years in the industry of glucose monitoring, and has filed over 50 patents worldwide. He is currently assisting companies in Algeria and Saudi Arabia to locally produce glucose monitoring systems with new technologies, such as 100% non-destructive online quality check on every test strips to identify bad strips and fix them with laser technology to become good strips. He is the first one to produce glucose test strips with gold plated printed circuit boards. Major Achievements: 1.Best Poster Award, “Effect of carbon black on the physical transitions in vulcanized natural rubber”, American Chemical Society, May 1986, New York, USA. 2.Technical transfer of continuous fiberglass pultrusion technology to Lucksoon Metalworks in Malaysia in 1995. 3.Technical transfer of continuous fiberglass pultrusion technology to Majestic Taurus Co. Ltd. in Taiwan in 1997. 4.Technical transfer of continuous fiberglass pultrusion technology to Kuo Bin Ceramics in Taiwan in 1999. 5.Technical transfer of continuous fiberglass pultrusion technology to Spare Pultrusion in China in 2001. 6.Technical transfer of glucose monitoring technology to Neuero Engineering Inc., in Taiwan in 2004. 7.Technical transfer of glucose monitoring technology to Teddy Co. Ltd. in Taiwan in 2008. 8.Technical transfer of glucose monitoring technology to Joinsoon Medical Technology, Co. Ltd. in Taiwan in 2011. 9.Technical transfer of glucose monitoring technology to Diana Medical Factory, Co. Ltd. in Saudi Arabia in 2017. 10.Technical transfer of glucose monitoring technology to Biocare Diagnostics Sarl in Algeria in 2018. 11. Invented the first production technology of highly oriented polymers which are much stronger than steel in 2003. I named this new material as the Fifth Structural Material. 12. Invented the first high-speed lancing device for fingertip blood tests in 2007. 13. Invented the first high-speed safety lancets for fingertip blood tests in 2007. 14. Invented the first 100% non-destructive quality check technology for blood glucose test strips in 2005. 15. Invented the first glucose test strips for 3 tests on a single test strip in 2003. 16. Invented the first glucose test strips for 10 tests on a single test strip in 2011. 17. Invented the first laser trimming technology to change defective glucose test strips to become good strips in 2017.
